Occupational safety and health in focus: the Sabentis team during the institutional visit to the Pusat Rehabilitasi PERKESO.

Pablo Rodríguez, CFO of Sabentis, held an institutional meeting with the executive team of PERKESO (Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial), Malaysia’s Social Security Organisation, to explore how the Sabentis platform can add value in the management of prevention, occupational safety and health and return to work within the Malaysian ecosystem.

The meeting brought together representatives from Sabentis and the executive team of PERKESO in a session focused on sharing capabilities, comparing operational frameworks and exploring potential lines of cooperation in occupational safety and health.

Who is PERKESO

PERKESO is the public institution that delivers social security in Malaysia, with a mandate covering three pillars: prevention, early intervention and rehabilitation. Its biopsychosocial model integrates physical, vocational and mental health rehabilitation, with the aim of extending workers’ working lives and reducing dependency on long-term care.

The flagship of its care network is the Pusat Rehabilitasi PERKESO Tun Abdul Razak, in Melaka, operational since 2014, with 381 beds and more than 26,000 patients rehabilitated. This infrastructure will soon be joined by the National Neuro-Robotic & Cybernics Rehabilitation Centre (Ipoh) and the PERKESO Rehabilitation Centre East Coast Region (Terengganu), which will consolidate its commitment to advanced rehabilitation in the country. Initiatives like this reflect how occupational risk prevention software supports rehabilitation and care.

Common ground with Sabentis in occupational safety and health

The conversation centred on a natural point of convergence: traceability of the worker throughout the preventive cycle. From risk assessment to health surveillance, occupational accidents, absenteeism and return to work, Sabentis connects every stage with verifiable data and real-time indicators, providing an integrated digital layer that can support the operational workflows of organisations such as PERKESO. The shared vision also covers building a strong safety culture across organisations.

During the meeting, the teams exchanged experiences on prevention management frameworks, coordination between medical and operational services, and data governance models in multi-institutional environments. Sabentis presented some of the platform’s core modules focused on health surveillance and operational traceability.

A shared vision for occupational safety and health

Both PERKESO and Sabentis share a strategic premise: the future of occupational safety and health is not played out solely in compliance, but in the ability to anticipate, intervene earlier and support the worker’s recovery with data and technology centred on the person. The conversation remains open to explore further forms of collaboration. The health surveillance module is part of a wider push toward AI-driven prevention.
